My Little Getaway

Ok, ok - so I am officially back in Indiana. :) A little tired, a stuffy nose, and, surprisingly, only two mosquito bites - well placed on my right upper eye lid and at my waistline where my pants rub - lol - but no worse for the wear. AND I had a great time! :)

We left Indiana at 7:30 AM Saturday morning and arrived at our destination at 3:45 PM. We left the next day around 3PM and I made it back to Indy by 12:30AM. Lots of driving.

Here are some of the many highlights from my getaway.

(My traveling position - feet up/socks off/map or book on lap)

A little fawn we spotted in the woods. She sat very very still for us. :)

Our finds - 40-50 morels.

We may not have found as many morels as we wanted to but we did see two frogs, plenty of slugs, a birds nest and a fawn! :) Thankfully we DID NOT see any elk or black bear - which are said to be returning to the area - glad they told us that as we were going home rather than as we were entering the woods. LOL!

Had a great time! It nice to come back to work refreshed - maybe not physically but at least mentally. :)

Prarie-vision: The plan was to cook up the morels tonight - but with my unexpected root canal - I was too tired to attempt it. :( We cook up the old fashioned way - flour and butter - fried up in a saucepan. Yum! I will post pics though!

Momma-val: yes it was a good recharge while it lasted :( Hopefully I will get that refreshed feeling back a little tomorrow - going to bed early tonight!

Nadine: Do you like morels? A lot of people don't know what they are or what they taste like - so I am glad to have fellow morel-lovers. I don't like regular mushrooms - but THESE are marvelous!

The morels look cool. I wish I could find some in the woods.
