Oh My Goodness!

So I think my husband is trying to do me in.

I woke up this morning and glanced over to his side of the bed and saw THIS peeking out from the covers.

I sat straight up in bed - wide awake after seeing that and grabbed his wrist and asked him why he was wearing it.

Well, I guess it is because of this....

He worked the 7pm-5:30am shift last night and being Memorial Day weekend it was busy and they got slammed at the restaurant and there wasn't enough people scheduled to help him out (being with only one good arm and all) so he started doing too much and hit his good hand on some metal equipment and cut himself open.

I am stressing out now - I have completely reorganized the house - thrown out expired medicine in the medicine cabinet, vacuumed the cushions on our kitchen chairs, did another two loads of laundry and a load of dishes, cleaned out the fridge, organized and filed our important paperwork - I clean when I am stressed and today I went all out.

And he is going back to work tonight 6pm to 4am...arg!- let's pray that it isn't too busy tonight and that he has enough workers and that he stops trying to do so much. :(

My husband isn't a clumsy man. He has never had stitches or broke a bone in his life. And now in the last two weeks he has had 21 stitches and hand surgery.

I think it is God's way of telling him to slow down and to start delegating more. He really loves his new job - he is finally doing what he loves - managing - but he is doing too much and trying to be everything to everyone because he is a great guy and will give it 210% - but people take advantage of that. And they are taking advantage of him - and he can only stretch himself so thin before something breaks - like it has :(.

So worried right now.

Oh dear, while I was reading this post I thought, "wow, samething happened on a different blog that I read." Scroll to be sure I haven't missed any of your posts.

Lo and Behold, the very same blog? The very same husband? You poor woman. If you lived close I would bring you Rice Krispie treats and hold your hand.

Aw, thank you, Carrie! I live quite far away from any of our family - so it has been kind of rough - but we do have a few friends that take us under their wing thank goodness. Rice krispies do sound marvelous! :) It is the thought that counts and it really brightened my day - thank you!

I called the hubby at 12:30 and he is still intact tonight - so he made it through the 10-12 rush. Phew. Now he just has to make it until 4am. :) Lets keep our fingers crossed!

Good grief! Your poor husband. No wonder you're worried, but at least he likes his job. I hope you manage to do some relaxing over the holiday weekend...

Hopefully business will not be too much tonight.

Yikes! I completely feel for you!!!!! Although your husband is not clumsy, mine used to be. I have seen just about everything. What I hadn't seen with him happened before I met him. Thankfully, he is much better now . . . . . most of the time. When he has a violent arrest or a foot pursuit chasing someone through woods, over fences, etc., anything goes. Sounds like your husband is a very hard worker. Many supervisors delegate to a fault. It is so nice to hear a manager that works just as hard . . . . maybe too hard. I too clean and organize like a freak when I get nervous, upset or worried. Maybe we were wired that way so we could get our lives & houses in shape every so often. It does feel awesome to kick everything in gear when situations like that happen. Hope tonight is good to your husband. Hang in there . . . . . both of you!

Oh what a sad shocking photo of your hubby's fingers and stitches. I hope he heals quickly and sent out a quick prayer for him.
Ouch!
