Fall Garden Update Etc.
Came home and pulled on my blue jeans today - feels rather bittersweet. On one hand it is a sign that summer is coming to a close, but on the other it means warming up inside, pumpkin pies, and the smell of fall air.
Made a visit to the garden while letting the dogs out and found my radishes up, as well as 6 cucumber plants...should weed 'em down to only 2 or four, and one of my pumpkin seedling making a presence as well as hints of peas coming up! So exciting! No sign of life from the carrot or lettuce rows - hopefully those will come in the next few days. Our cherry tomatoes, onions and bell peppers are all holding strong - and the rain we got has spruced things up quite nicely.
While out and about on my evening stroll through the yard checking on plants and things I startled myself by about putting my hand through a cobweb with a sinister looking lanky, yellow and black spider looming at the center. I saw it before but it caught me off guard today and I forgot all about it until I had already pulled weeds up near it...thankfully the web and scary spider are still in place and not wrapped up my arm!
Had two teenage girls tell me my house was pretty. I don't recall seeing them before and most of the teenage girls in our neighborhood are so wrapped up in the teenage boys that they practically have blinders on so it is nice that they were polite and complimented my home.
Now I just need to focus on what to do about dinner....eat at home or grab something on the way to Oktober Fest...if we make it that far.
I like pleasant evenings! :)
