The Near East Side Community Organization (NESCO) will celebrate its annual Feast of Lanterns on Saturday, August 23rd, and this year's festivities will again include an east-side Gong Show from 4 to 5pm. The Feast of Lanterns is a historic east-side celebration that neighbors revived six years ago. The celebration takes place in Spades Park from noon to 11pm. In addition to the Gong Show, events will include children's activities, food vendors, an art fair, and music (headlined by the Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band). The festivities culminate with the lighting of hundreds of lanterns at dusk. Admission to the Feast is free. For more information, visit www.indyfeast.org.
