Fun in Franklin

Spent a cool August afternoon strolling the streets of historic downtown Franklin and stopped in all the little shops. I love shopping this area around Christmas time - you can find very unique gifts.

We did make it down to the Taste of Downtown but were a tad tuckered out to takes pics or spend much time there and no visit to the canal. :(

Isn't it just charming?

Almost walked out with these colorful little bowls.

Of course I would love these lovely letters found in one of the antique shops!

A glimpse inside the amazing Imagination Station! We always stop here for birthday and Christmas presents for all our nieces and nephews!

Charming storefronts.

Oooh, kinda reminds me of Geneva, IL. That place is so cute. I love going to little quaint places like that. Haven't been anywhere like that since before I got pregnant. Galena is very nice too. Went a few years ago and they had an evening Halloween Parade with giant flames that they shot out of their hot air balloon equipment. It was so cool!

I've never been to Franklin, but think I need to visit sometime -- it is so picturesque! Thanks for sharing!

Momma Val - Never been to Geneva, IL - sounds lovely though. Franklin is having a Fall Festival soon and I hope I can go to see this little town in action.

indykari - It is a great little place to spend a lazy afternoon. There is also a public pool off Franklin University's Campus to cool off in nearby (costs $3.50 per adult and $1 per lawn chair). And if you are interested in yarn, fabric, gifts or antiques - there shops to accommodate each! A nice little stop on the way to the Edinburgh Outlets!
