Pass the Peas Please!

There's an over abundance in our garden right now - peas!! I normally just eat them raw, but I may have to try to cook some up or give some away since I have so many right now! Though there is a certain white chihuahua I know who'd love to help just eat 'em up! It is so funny - but she really likes peas! Silly pup!

Anyone have a favorite recipe that include peas?

An abundance of peas is a blessing! I just started getting mine yesterday...

Peas freeze REALLY well. Don't even have to blanch them- just shell & throw in a bag in the freezer. Freezing the peas is better than letting them sit in the fridge, because they lose sweetness and get starchy just a few days after picking.

What a great harvest!! I don't think I have any yet, but it's been raining so much lately I haven't been outside to check.

Do you have a wok? Maybe you could incorporate them in some stir fry? Or bring to work cold with some homemade dip? When my mom has an overabundance of garden beans she lightly steams them in a steamer basket and drizzles them with warmed olive oil and a some fresh ground rock sea salt. I have also had some fabulous pea pods from our local chinese restaurant sauteed with a bit of oil and fresh garlic, then served over white rice with a bit of soy sauce. Gosh, I guess the possibilities are endless. Sorry for not including recipes but most of these should be easy to throw together or find on Google.
Bon Appetite!

nomnomnom! I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to peas. I think they should be shelled then warmed up and served by themselves in a little bowl with a dab of butter and a sprinkling of salt. :)

p.s. peas are good for pups! Mix some in their kibble w/ some gravy or drippings. They love it!

What a great haul. I'd love some if I were closer, and it's so cute that Little Lola likes them too. :-)
