23 Weeks: Slowly Being Squished From the Inside Out

I missed updating my 22 week picture here on the blog last week - went by in a bit of a blur. Crazy how a 3 day weekend and then a short week will do that to ya! But, here I am at 23 weeks! A few people are finally starting to notice that my growing belly is a baby and not just too many donuts! :) Yay!

Nothing new on the craving front - still enjoying fresh fruits and anything sweet. I am starting to feel a bit weird in the ribs, tummy and back though - must be that fun hormone relaxin really kicking in - and my equilibrium starting to shift - and the baby moving all around.  Slept on my shoulder wrong last Sunday and it took this whole week for it to unkink - ugh! And the simple act of weeding makes my back ache. :( To help entice myself to take it more easy I practically cleaned out the library here today. A few cookbooks and a lot of novels to read while resting in my hammock in the shade!

Another fun symptom has kicked in too - leg cramps in the middle of the night. Ow!

Weeks 22-24 (Month 5): Papaya
Average size: 10.5-11.8 inches, 12.7-20.8 oz.

Our baby girl is roughly the size of a papaya now! I definitely feel like I am slowly being squashed from the inside out! Especially if I eat a big meal.  Ugh.  She likes to get kicking during the day - especially when I am hungry - around lunch time and dinner or if I am comfy in front of computer she will start into a regular kick and jab fest! But as soon as her daddy puts his hand on my belly to feel her move - she stops! Do we have a daddy's girl in the works? :)

We had a meeting yesterday with our little's future daycare provider! We've been looking into home daycares and haven't had much luck finding someone who was willing to work with our inconsistent schedules. My husband currently has three weekdays off every other week - so he could be home with the baby during those days - so we need someone who can offer more of a daily rate. Most places we've looked into are only interested in taking on full time children. A colleague of mine told me about the person she takes her little one to who had daily rates - so I figured we should give it try! So glad we did! We clicked on the phone - and even more so in person! She'll be saving a spot for us until our little one gets here! It's so nice to have at least one less thing to worry about!

Must be a baby thing. Maybe a girl thing, I don't know yet. Baby was going nuts this morning stronger than it had felt before and I put my hand on my belly and it was done. Just like that.
