Reader Question! Fact or Myth?

Are there any similarities in the periods of wakefulness versus sleepiness for babies in the womb in comparison to how they are out of the womb?

I love feeling her move and kick about - always brings the cheesiest of smiles to my face. :)

I don't know whether it's fact or myth, but I've found it to be true. Lauren would, like clockwork, start her active period at 10pm, and she has always been a night owl. Jared too. Jonah was more regular in his quiet/active patterns, and he's an early bedtime/early riser...
Either way, I sure do miss having a baby cavorting in my belly! Enjoy it.

Yes, I believe that that is why they are mixed up with day and night when they are born (you'll see). When you are moving about they are lulled asleep with all the movement. Then when they are born and having trouble sleeping or are upset, they are very comforted as long as you are loving or rocking, etc. Children of any age with ALWAYS want to be awake and lively when you are dead tired. For sure! lol

If it is true, we will really be blessed! She sleeps through the night - no kicking or waking me up - and I am a super light sleeper so I'd noticed if she was kicking - especially as forceful as her kicks are here lately! Her active periods are off and on all day around 8AM-11AM and then off and on again in the afternoon evenings from 2PM-9PM. After my bath and after my hubby puts cocoa butter on my belly each night she settles down and we conk out for the rest of the night. I might end up getting up around 2 or 4 to use the restroom - but she doesn't so much as flip or kick! We'll see how she is when she's out - hopefully she will still have her night and day right! :)
