“If I had my child to raise all over again, I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later. I’d finger-paint more, and point the finger less. I would do less correcting and more connecting. I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes. I’d take more hikes and fly more kites. I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play. I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars. I’d do more hugging and less tugging.“

Great quote. I have read it before, but every time it makes me want to try harder to be a better parent.
I couldn't find an email for you, and your comments are set to no reply so I thought I would leave a comment about frosting for the ruffle cake. If you are doing a regular one batch of cake batter sized cake you should have enough frosting if you use 1 cup of butter, 1 cup of shortening, a dash of vanilla. Then slowly add in 2 lbs of powder sugar. Beat it a ton and add in a few tablespoons of milk until it is the consistency you want. If you are using a lot of frosting to fill the cake layers or if you are making a bigger cake you may want to double it.
